About the Toolkit

Want to involve disabled children and young people more in what you do?

This online database has been created by practitioners to help you quickly find information and ideas to support your work with disabled children and young people.

How can the database help?

The database is divided into two parts: resources and practice.

The resources you'll find here have all been used and recommended by practitioners. They have provided information about

  • How the resource was used with disabled people
  • the young people's feedback
  • how to get hold of it
  • what it costs

Many of them can be downloaded from this website for free.

The practice section contains information about ways of enabling young people’s participation that have worked well for other people. This could give you ideas or inspire you to work in different ways with disabled children and young people.

The database is quick and easy to use. Both the resources and practice ideas are there to be copied, tweaked or fully adapted in what ever way is useful for you and the young person you are supporting. If you find a different version that works, tell us about it.

Use the left hand menus to search for ideas and to upload your own.
